Sunday November 11 – 9:00AM: Meditation instruction class. Free and open to all, this class offers an orientation to Zen meditation. Basic meditation instructions and Dharma room forms are given with some Q & A. No registration needed. Then at 10:00AM we will have Dharma School. The Center offers classes for children ages 4-12 and their families on meditation, mindfulness and the Buddhist Tradition. Also at 10:00AM: there will be a Dharma Talk in the main Dharma room.
Sunday November 18 – 9:00AM: Kido Chanting retreat led by Abbot Jason Quinn. Kido chanting retreats consist primarily of chanting from 9:00am to 3:00pm with a break at noon for an informal lunch. We chant “Kwan Seum Bosal”, the Korean name for the bodhisattva of compassion, while sitting, standing and walking (similar to the special chanting that we do every evening at 6:30pm). Wednesday October 31 – Happy Halloween! 5:30PM: Public vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:30PM. Also at 6:30PM special chanting begins in the main Dharma Room followed by regular chanting at 7:00PM. There will also be two sitting periods which begin at 7:30 with walking meditation in between.
Sunday October 21, 10-11AM – Our resident calligrapher and kitchen master Chong Yew, is teaching a calligraphy classes here at the Zen Center. Chinese Calligraphy is one of the oldest Oriental arts. Calligraphy is not only a practical technique for writing Chinese characters, but is also a unique way to develop spiritual values, clarity, discipline, strength and flexibility. It is a very good way to reflect ourselves in that very moment, just like Zen meditation.
The one hour long classes will be a suggested donation of $10 -$15 each. For more information and to register please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Retreat fees are:
$4500/entire retreat or $455/week for non-members and associate members;
$3000/entire retreat or $315/week for students, clergy and school members;
$2500/entire retreat or $245/week for Dharma Teachers and Dharma Teachers in training in the Kwan Um School of Zen.
Half price for Eastern Europeans who are members in good standing of their home zen centers (does not apply to Eastern Europeans living in the U.S.).
