A Kyol Che (“coming together”) is a longer, intensive meditation retreat held in the winter and summer. Held at our Diamond Hill Zen Monastery, it is modeled after the traditional winter and summer retreats in the mountain temples of Korea. Public Vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:15PM. José Ramírez JDPSN, will be giving kong-an interviews. José is returning back to PZC after 12 years living in the Delaware area and teaching at the Delaware Valley Zen Center.

Our Wednesday open house, like most of our public programs, is always free, but any donations are gratefully accepted. If you would like to make a donation to our center, you can do it securely online with credit card or PayPal.

Vesak_Poster_2011 We invited as many Buddhist groups as we could find in Rhode Island and we encourage you to do the same. If you are not familiar with Vesak, it is considered one of the most important days in all Buddhist traditions and is the day we celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death of the historical Buddha who lived over 2500 years ago.
This one day retreat consists of sitting and walking meditation from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm followed by an informal meal. It will include kong-an interviews with Zen Master Bon Haeng
(Mark Houghton). There is an orientation at 8:45 am for first-time retreat members. Prior meditation experience or attendance at a meditation instruction class is recommended.
