Sunday December 23 – 9:00AM: Meditation instruction class. Free and open to all, this class offers an orientation to Zen meditation. Basic meditation instructions and Dharma room forms are given with some Q & A. No registration needed. Also at 10:00AM: there will be long sitting meditation in the main Dharma room.

Wednesday December 19 - 5:30PM: Public vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:30PM. Also at 6:30PM special chanting begins in the main Dharma Room followed by regular chanting at 7:00PM. There will also be two sitting periods this evening and kong-an interviews w/ José Ramírez JDPSN.

Wednesday December 12 – 5:30PM: Public vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:30PM. Also at 6:30PM special chanting begins in the main Dharma Room followed by regular chanting at 7:00PM. There will also be two sitting periods this evening and consulting interviews with Abbot Jason Quinn.

Sunday December 9 9:00AM: Meditation instruction class. Free and open to all, this class offers an orientation to Zen meditation. Basic meditation instructions and Dharma room forms are given with some Q & A. No registration needed. Then at 10:00AM we will have Dharma School. The Center offers classes for children ages 4-12 and their families on meditation, mindfulness and the Buddhist Tradition. Also at 10:00AM: there will be a Dharma Talk in the main Dharma room.

Wednesday December 5 – 5:30PM: Public vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:30PM. Also at 6:30PM special chanting begins in the main Dharma Room followed by regular chanting at 7:00PM. At 7:30PM we will have two sitting periods with walking meditation in between and kong-an interviews with Nancy Hedgpeth, JDPSN.

Sunday December 16 9:30AM-3:30PM: One day silent meditation retreat led by Nancy Hedgpeth, JDPSN. One day retreats consist of sitting and walking meditation from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm followed by an informal meal. Includes kong-an teaching interviews with a zen teacher. There is an orientation at 8:45 am for first-time retreat members. Prior meditation experience or attendance at a meditation instruction class is recommended.

Prices: non members $65, members $45, Dharma teachers and Dharma teachers in training $35

Sunday November 25 – 9:00AM: Join us for a free walk-in beginners meditation instruction class. Also at 10:00AM there will be long sitting in the main Dharma room and consulting interviews with a Senior Dharma Teacher.

Wednesday November 21 - 5:30PM: Public vegetarian dinner followed by meditation instruction class at 6:30PM. Also at 6:30PM special chanting begins in the main Dharma Room followed by regular chanting at 7:00PM. There will also be kong-an interviews this evening with Nancy Hedgpeth, JDPSN and two sitting periods which begin at 7:30 with walking meditation in between.

Saturday December 1 – 7:00AM: We hope you will consider joining us for this year’s Buddha’s Enlightenment Day at the Providence Zen Center. All activities for Buddha’s Enlightenment Day are free and open to the public. However, you must register if you need overnight accommodations or transportation to the center.
